Why buying Brazilian poultry meat is still an excellent business

Brazil is among the largest producers and exporters of beef, chicken and pork in the world. According to the Brazilian Federal Government's Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, in 2020, Brazil exported 7.4 million tons of animal protein (bovine, swine and poultry), representing 13.4% of the total global exposures in the follow-up and occupying 2 nd place in the global ranking of such vertical.

Brazilian chickens enjoy more space and lower density than many other large-scale poultry production countries in the world. They are bred in semi-open environments that are naturally ventilated and illuminated by daylight, without the need for artificial heating, aiming to benefit animal welfare.

Such natural techniques not only remove excess heat, moisture, dust and odors, but also reduce and expel organisms causing airborne diseases.  This, in turn, limits the use of antibiotics.

The country's slaughterhouse system is better for animal welfare, as they minimize the need to transport live animals for slaughter, resulting in better quality control, with constant technical and veterinary assistance, in addition to strict compliance with internationally recognized standards.

Brazilian Quality Standard

Brazil is one of the few major poultry producers that has never recorded a single case of avian influenza (H5N1). The poultry sector of the country is also totally free of the disease. All birds produced are subjected to strict processes of quality control and health, supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA).

Brazilian poultry production has a lower carbon footprint than its main competitors. The CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) indices generated by animal respiration and the slightness of physiological excrement such as fecal cake are much lower than in many other jurisdictions typically associated with large-scale poultry production worldwide.

Productive strategy and logistics

The reason is that most of Brazil's poultry production is strategically concentrated in the southern, midwest and southeastern regions of Brazil, where the dominant climate is subtropical or subtropical humid, mild temperatures and mild temperature variations, and where there is plenty of natural luminosity and water.

Brazil has strategic partnerships with importing countries to meet market demands. This has ensured solid relationships with partners around the world and creates new export potential. The certification of halal production in Brazil is given by independent certifying entities, such as the Centre for Islamic Dissemination of Islam in Latin America (CDIAL Halal), the Federation of Muslim Associations in Brazil (FAMBRAS) and also the Islamic Inspection Services (SIIL Halal) as by the governments of importing countries themselves.
